GP Federations

With our experience of working on both Wave 1 and Wave 2 of the Prime Ministers Challenge Fund - Improving access to Primary care - Opusflow have gained the experience and knowledge to advice and assist in the operation and management required setting up GP Federations.

 

Prime Minister's Challenge Fund (Improving Access)

 

Opusflow provided Project Management and IT Consultancy services for the Prime Minister's Challenge Fund
for Wave 1 and now are working with Federations delivering Wave 2.

 

In October 2013, the Prime Minister announced a new £50 million Challenge Fund to help improve access to general practice and stimulate innovative ways of providing primary care services. The first wave of twenty pilots was announced in April 2014.

 

Further funding of £100m for 2015/16 was announced by the Prime Minister on 30 September 2014 for a second wave.  More information can be found on the NHS England site here.

 

Opusflow have helped GP Federations delivering both wave 1 and now wave 2 pilots by providing the following services:

 

  • Project Planning for bid applications

  • Setting up project management portals for collaboration with project teams, stakeholders and suppliers

  • Managing and delivering multiple projects within the PMCF Programme

  • Developing online Knowledge Base for Federation staff, clinicians and suppliers

  • Assisting with IG Toolkit and IG SoC applications for non NHS Organisations to use N3

  • Working with N3 Agregator Redcentric for alternative access to N3

  • Working with Emis enabling data sharing of Patient Care Records across the Federation estate

  • Working with other providers to enable data sharing (A&E, 111, ambulance services, Out of Hours) 

  • Developing Emis Web workflows for cross organisational sharing of appointment books, tasks and documents 

  • Configuring IT kit (laptops, desktops, printers) for Federation staff to work in hubs and other locations

  • Configuring Emis Anywhere Tablets for remote access to Care Records

  • Training staff (receptionists and clinicians) on data sharing processes and workflows

  • Working with BT N3SP procuring, enabling and configuring N3 connectivity and wireless networks for hubs

  • Working with suppliers delivering virtual hubs, digital patient facing portals and Interoperability solutions

  • Smartcard Management for easier access to Emis Web and Trust Domains

  • Advising on technologies such as video conferencing solutions, mobile working and web technologies to deliver services

  • Implementing IT Infrastructure to support Federation staff such as Enterprise email and Document Management systems
